What are injectable fillers?

Injectable fillers are used when the signs of aging begin to appear as an alternative to surgical procedures such as a facelift. These fillers combat age-related changes, including volume loss, saggy skin, fine lines, thin lips, and sunken areas.

How do injectable fillers work?

During your free consultation, a highly-skilled Skin Works Med Spa medical professional will evaluate the areas that concern you and educate you on injectable fillers and Botox. You will learn about the treatment options, expected results, possible complications, and follow-up care that may be needed. Once you understand everything, you and your medical professional will discuss which option would be best for you. If you decide to get a treatment on the same day, you will be offered a free medical-grade numbing cream prior to treatment. Most areas do not require numbing creme, and treatments are typically comfortable; however, they can be mildly painful to some individuals.

Are injectable fillers safe?

Yes! Treatment with Botox and fillers are FDA approved.

How should I prepare for my treatment?

Schedule a free consultation with one of our highly skilled medical professionals to be evaluated for treatment! Do not drink alcohol the day before or of the treatment.

How long does will my treatment take?

You can expect your treatment to last between 15 and 45 minutes; however, it may last longer depending on the areas you are getting treated.

How does the treatment feel?

Typically, the only feeling experienced during a Botox or filler treatment will be a small prick. Our highly skilled medical professionals insert the needle with medical precision to ensure that the treatment is as painless as possible.

Is getting a facial injection painful?

If you are very sensitive to pain, you may want to have a numbing cream applied to the treatment area. This will ensure that a mild sensation will be experienced during the injection. For fillers used on the cheeks and jawline, you may feel a slight amount of pressure at the injection site. Some people can receive treatment without numbing cream as they describe the treatments as causing little to no pain.

How soon can I expect results?

Results are typically seen instantly with injectable fillers; however, Botox may take up to 14 days to take effect.

What kind of results can I expect?

Depending on the areas you are getting treated, you can expect to see a variety of amazing results! Our skilled medical professionals can artistically use fillers with medical precision for a variety of different reasons, including building volume in the cheeks, altering the dimensions of your face, correcting or enhancing your lip structure, defining your jawline, and reducing the appearance of folds, wrinkles, or creases! When Botox is used around your eyes or eyebrows, the muscle movement is relaxed, leading to smoother, younger-looking skin. Using Botox on the forehead can decrease oil production and skin breakouts. Injectable fillers do exactly what their name says: They fill the area and create a “fuller” appearance. Fillers can be applied under the eyes to raise the area and get rid of the “bags” under your eyes that make you look tired. Fillers can also be applied to the lips, resulting in full, luscious lips!

Will I need time to recover after injectable fillers?

Some people may want a few days to recover from minor swelling and bruising.

How many treatments will I have to get?

During the free consultation, a highly-skilled medical professionals will assess the area to determine how many treatments you may need. If more than one treatment is necessary, we will discuss it with you.

Are injectable fillers permanent?

Botox and fillers are temporary and must be touched up in order to maintain results. Botox is recommended every 3 to 4 months. Injectable fillers such as Juvederm Ultra, Restylane, and Belotero typically last up to 6 months while Voluma can last up to 2 years.

Will my results look natural?

Definitely! When fillers are done right, they will look natural and take years off your appearance! At Skin Works Med Spa, you can expect your treatments to be done by a skilled and highly trained medical professional to enhance your features in a natural and subtle way.
