What are dermal facial fillers used to treat?
As Dr. Tahsini shares that facial fillers are mostly used to treat fine lines and wrinkles and have an instant ability to knock a few years off your face. They are also used to plump and define lips and fill hollow areas on the face. The most popular and safest skin boosters are Restylane and Juvéderm because they contain non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. These products are FDA approved for use in the nasolabial fold.
Here are some of the areas where they work best:
- lines from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial fold)
- lines from the mouth to the chin (melomental fold)
- lines above the upper lip
- in the lips for volume
- to restore volume to cheekbones or cheek
At what age should you consider facial fillers Torrance?
Most of the Skin Works Medical Spa clients are 30 and above. However, Dr. Tahsini recommends that if you’re as young as 25 “with fine lines even when your skin is relaxed,” you are a candidate.
The ideal candidate for this treatment has been exposed to sun damage, has dehydrated skin, or is experiencing the first signs of aging.
How long do the effects of fillers last and how much does one actually need?
Brands like Restylane stimulate your own hyaluronic acid production (hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in skin), so the more often you get fillers done, the less dosage you’ll need in your next treatment.
Depending on the area treated, your skin, and the injection technique, Restylane® will last 6 to 9 months. In some cases, the duration of the effects can be a bit shorter or longer. Since Restylane® Lyft is injected deep into the dermis for mid-face volume and gentle lifting of lower facial lines results easily last over 12 months, making it an affordable choice.
Results from Juvéderm® may also last 6-12 months. Juvéderm® Voluma® XC which is injected in the cheek area is proven to last for 2 years. Individual results may vary, depending on your lifestyle.
How long do these facial fillers take to work?
It’s immediate, but it can take a few days to “settle into” its final shape.
Are there any side effects or a recovery period for fillers?
Very minimal side effects include redness, swelling, and bruising that subsides after three to four days. The great thing is that there is no downtime. Patients can return to their everyday activities right after their appointment.
What happens once the effects of Restylane or Botox wear off?
Once the filler wears off your skin will go back to its original state. But once clients in Skin Works Medical Spa, Torrance, see the effects of the fillers, they feel more confident and beautiful. This is one of the reasons why they keep coming back for the treatment.
How much do fillers cost?
Restylane and Juvederm are usually priced by the syringe. For example, filling out the nasolabial folds (the lines from the nose to the mouth) will take one or two syringes usually.
